The center is located in the Carver Hall Building. Walking up the stairs and opening the door you will be hit with a wave of welcoming from the vibes
down to the decor. The while walls decorated with pictures of current staff, the furniture full of pillows, and the front desk being hugged by draping leaves are all things you might observe when entering the building as well as hearing occasional chatter coming from the conference room. The bright lighting paired with the neat furniture brings a sense of peace and by looking up to the front desk you will be greeted with the amazing staff, most likely Lisa Olander, who will be available to answer any questions. The staff is very welcoming and friendly, and it's not complicated to reach, just simply walk in or send a quick email. Having been there before, I can attest that even by not being sure what you need or what it is you're looking for, you will find it with them. "We love it!" exclaimed Lisa when asked how they felt by being able to support students on any aspect. She then proceeded to explain the various things they do, and, as I mentioned before, they help with attire in case with dire need, such as for expos or conferences that are hosted through the campus.
Front desk/reception
This is called the Career Closet, a room full of formal/business outfits that are available for students to borrow when needed. When walking in the area filled with warmth, you will see a mirror leaning against the wall and a stand with a variety of jewelry like necklaces, bracelets, and earrings. In contrast to the other place the career closest is a bright room with racks of clothing to with endless options to choose from. The career closet is always receiving more attire for the students. In here they're able to keep a whole outfit from shoes to suits for the gentlemen and dresses for the ladies. I myself got the chance to go to the Career Closet and keep an outfit to use when it becomes needed and that is how I came to know about the Alumni and Professional Engagement center. The staff was very helpful with finding an outfit to keep and where there throughout the whole process to assist and answer questions. It's encouraged to come with friends to spread the word about this center and help those students that need it. Now, after visiting and learning more when going forward in the path of a successful career you'll feel more at ease you can not only dress accordingly but know what you're going for and how to get it.
Career Closet
All this and more are things that can be found in this center, so to anyone that might feel like they're lost, don't know how to expand their horizons, and dive deeper into their career path should come by and even bring others around that way the number of students being helped increases. Even if the help you're looking for isn't found here, they will direct you in the right way. Being part of this establishment is something that stays with you even after graduating hence the alumni in their title. The alumni are still in touch with the center and help those with similar career paths that are still attending college, so they have a clear picture of what steps van be taken to achieve good results. If you ever need a hand now you know where to go.
