Behind the Cabinet Door

Walking into the showroom, the first thing you notice is the smell of wood cabinets. Before you can even begin to look at the elegant displays, the office dog Fletcher, a yellow lab, will come greet you at the front door. Fletcher will meet you with his tail wagging and a toy in his mouth. Behind her desk sits Kristen Williams, the owner of Dale Wolfe, who will greet you with a warm smile. Behind her at the table sits her mother Bonnie, she greets you with a smile and offer you something to drink. While you are being greeted the primary salesman Brad Williams, Kristen's husband, he will start getting his getting things set up at the table. Ryan Geise, who is the primary drafter, will pop his head up from his desk and say hi. Steven Paul, the main installer, who also works their will most likely be out on a job. He works by himself when its not summer, As I help out in the summer. This business is not just a retail store its a family business that wants to offer the best possible support.

For Kristen ,Dale Wolfe Custom Kitchens And Bathrooms, is more than just a business its a legacy. " I was born into it". She spoke about her summers working there and figuring out the business, before going to college and returning later. While carrying the family business brings great satisfaction and pride, it can also be very difficult to navigate a shifting industry. When the economic downfall hit in 2008 the business had to change who they were working with. Prior to that, the company mainly worked with new home construction builders. When people could not afford to build new homes anymore, the company switched to doing new kitchens in existing homes. " The dynamic of the business has changed over the last 10 to 15 years". When Covid hit the price of materials went up, so that was also something the business had to work out. With online shopping in todays time, it is very common to just get on the internet and buy something that ships to your house. This does not involve face to face interactions. Kristen mention, "we are not a click and buy store we are a come in and talk it out".

"Our team is very important and it is important that we work together, while giving support as well". Kristen said. Getting a new kitchen is not something that happens overnight, it takes time and effort. When a customer wants a new kitchen they are able to plan out every detail with the team. Before Ryan starts drafting a new kitchen he will go out and measure the space that they have. He does this so he can create a rough draft for the customer to move and change things around. When it comes to actually installing the kitchen, Dale Wolfe will remove the old one first and if the cabinets are still in good condition, they don't throw them away. The business sets them out front with a free sign for anyone that might need them. This speaks volumes on the type of business this is. Steven Paul, has worked there since he was in high school. He does not need anyone to supervise him or tell him what to do, the company trusts his work and his work ethic. This is extremely important, because the Company may do jobs that are hours away, and things run much smoother when Kristen doesn't have to worry because she knows he will do a good job.

With all the tv shows out on home renovation, customers may come in with bizarre or unheard of things they would like in their new kitchen. " My favorite is drawers in the toe kick", said Kristen while laughing. The Business tries to be as accommodating as possible, this shows how much they care for the customer. Kristen mentioned a 99 year old women who's dream was a brand new kitchen, the business got right on it. " I wanted to make her dream come true" exclaimed Kristen with a smile on her face. When working with Dale Wolfe, it becomes clear that the business offers more than just a new kitchen, they are turning your house into a home.
