| A self portrait that I made in the arts program at CASA in 2021. |
Hello to the class of Writing 103! I am incredibly excited to be here, and I am equally excited to introduce myself properly and get to know you all as a fellow student.
My name is Razz, which is short for Reinier (pronounced like the volcano in Washington). I am an ASL and English interpreting major, and I love to create and talk endlessly about the things I am passionate about. I am currently deciding on a minor, though I am torn between something related to my major, or art.
Some topics I enjoy include:
- art of all kinds
- wild and domesticated animals
- crafts, stationery and journaling
Introverts typically either love me because I can carry a conversation, or they dislike me because I talk a lot. That being said, I am very academics focused, and I want to put my whole heart (and mind) into this semester.
Expect the unexpected
What is there to know about Razz? Here are some interesting pieces from my personal life.

2. Capital Area School for the Arts, or CASA, is where I spent my last three years of high school. I graduated class of 2023 at 17 years old and spent my time there studying visual arts.
3. I casually enjoy poetry. I am fairly new to the hobby and love to flip through the pages of poetry books and revel in the awe it sparks. I've never written any myself, but I hope to soon.
Parting thoughts
I am always open to chat with anyone in any of my classes. If you ever need a listening ear, or even some advice from someone with a different perspective, I am here! I hope everyone has a great first semester, and I hope the same for myself.

Hey Razz! I knew you studied art, but I'm so glad you shared some of your work!
ReplyDeleteHi Razz! It is very cool that you like animals because that is something I am very passionate about too!
ReplyDeleteHey Razz! That art piece is amazing and I'm shocked that people have the ability to make art like this cause of the amount of skill that it takes to make it. I am horrendous when it comes to drawing, but seeing art like this makes me want to try to get into art someday.
ReplyDeleteHey Razz! I love that you shared your work and your animals. The picture of your pet rat is adorable! I also enjoyed the fact that you shared your hobby in poetry; this is so interesting, and you did a great job sharing your interests.
ReplyDeleteHi Razz! You've had 6 rats? That is so cool, I've always wanted to interact with one of them up close because they seem like such cute and intelligent animals. On a side note, don't feel any pressure to take a minor related to your major, you can literally study anything you want to do. The doors are wide open, and they are so many amazing things to study at Bloom.
ReplyDeleteI love how you addressed the class and invited conversation. Rats for pets ... I knew someone in my undergraduate years with two -- Ooga and Booga. They were sweet.
