Who am I blog

My name is Eliza Parker. I am originally from a very small town, Mount Carmel, Pennsylvania. My hometown is about 30 minutes outside of Bloomsburg, and everyone knows everyone; I only graduated with about 95 kids in my class, which might sound big, and I thought it was until I made friends at Bloomsburg University who were from bigger cities and graduated with about 400 kids. Coming into a big college was definitely a big change, such as everyone kind of minds their own business and there are so many people to meet and become friends with.

Another thing about me is I own two dogs; they are both girls and their names are Winnie and Pancake. We rescued both dogs; Winnie we adopted from a shelter in Walnutport, PA. She was transported in as a puppy from West Virginia. She is about 8 years old, a very large brindle-patterned dog with multi-colored nails and is very unique-looking. Pancake, we had just adopted from a shelter in Texas and had her transferred up to Hazleton, PA, where we were able to meet and adopt her. She is also a mutt but much smaller than Winnie and white and tan colored; she has very short legs as well and somewhat of a fox tail.

The last things about me is that I love to travel. Recently this summer I was able to go to Ocean City NJ, Cape May NJ, and lastly Myrtle Beach SC. But every January for the past 2 years for my fathers birthday we have celebrated going to places outside of the country including Turks and Caicos and Jamaica. Both beautiful countries I am so grateful I was able to visit. In Turks and Caicos, we were able to go jet skiing and many other fun activities that we were able to safely explore off the resort. In Jamaica, we went cliff jumping and made friends with some of the locals.  Both of these trips have given me a love for traveling outside of the country and taught me many new experiences.

  1. Wow! Your dogs are very cute. I love that you were able to rescue both of them. While my hometown isn't as small as yours, I can definitely relate to what it's like to be in an "everyone knows everyone" type of environment, coming to a new place can be really eye opening.

  2. Hey Eliza, I am also from a small town and high school. I went to Line Mountain School District, so Mount Carmel is a familiar name to me. I also rescued my two cats, one from a shelter, and the other was found in my barn.

  3. I'm wondering about the first picture above. Is that a shot of Mount Carmel? Travelling can be really fun. I'm a fan. My most recent trip in January was to Dominican Republic.
